3 Very Expensive Items Around Your House Which Can Be Sold on eBay

| On 08, Sep 2015

Did you know that there are items, sitting around your house that most probably would cost thousand on eBay? The giant online platform has about 157 million international buyers. EBay is the #1 place for selling all your rare or unusual items. Throughout its 20 years of existence eBay has seen it all – from the Dorito Shaped like the Pope’s hat sold for $1,209 to a Piece of Tape, which sold for $200.

We understand that not everyone has exotic or rare items around their houses. On the other hand, a pair of shoes sells on eBay about every second. Which means, you can sell about anything you have around your house and earn some good cash! And so, we are going to share with you 3 things that have been collecting dust at your house, that are worth more than you think!

  1. VHS Tapes

Isn’t it astonishing when we remember that the last VHS tape was created somewhere in 2005 and that the last VHS player in 2008. Then DVDs came in and took over completely, and then 10 years later we went to Blu-ray, digital downloads and streaming videos online.

That does not mean that there is no market for VHS tapes. If you’ve had kids in the 80’s or 90s or still saved those Star Wars and Star Trek videos and you still have them in your house somewhere, then you’re in for a treat!

If you have Disney films, know that their prices differ wildly based on the version, condition and how many Videos you’re offering. For instance, “The little Mermaid”, “Pocahontas“, “Cinderella” and the rest Disney series can be listed for $250. A collection of for example 23 Disney movies can be listed for $790. Or you can be very optimistic like this one user on eBay who listed every single tape for $500 each!

  1. IPods

That’s right! Even though you might have thought that on eBay any high-prices items are considered to be old. But even in technologies from a few years back is considered old for eBay. This is why if you still have the earliest iPod from Apple, you might be able to unload them for a surprising amount!

So, there are two types of iPods that have a high value for eBay: they should be unique and wanted. For instance, unique or rare iPods which are the limited-edition red U2 iPods and cost for $5000+; or any early edition iPods with box art of Billie Holiday or Bob Marley or any other cost around $7,000+ used; and $45,000 for unopened Billie Holiday.

To back down a bit, also in-demand are classic iPods with storage sizes of 80GB and more. Because Apple discontinued the Classics, there are fans that would pay almost anything just to get their hands on the remaining ones.

As in for the rest iPod Nanos, Shuffles and other models can be sold for some hundred dollars if someone wants a particular model or color desperately enough!

  1. Vinyl Records

If you have any Vinyl records sitting around somewhere in your house, then you are about to make some serious money! Of course, it depends on the record or collection, and if the records are high quality. There is one eBay user called “albertjukebox” who is selling his entire collection of 13,000 high quality records for around $278,000. Most probably you do not own a collection that large, and the user won’t be getting that price.

Keep in mind though, if you still own a rare record from the 30’s or 40’s, you can list it for about $10,000, or maybe even more. Basically an original or any other noteworthy record of a famous artist (like Nirvana, The Beatles) can be listed for several thousands.

You might have some albums of Elvis Presley or the Rolling Stones, they are also worth a bundle. Even you might not own an album or any collection, it’s not a bad idea to post it at all. Eventually you might end up with a couple of $100, which is better than nothing.

As with everything else, even if you think something is worthless, there might be someone out there looking for it! Go on and start listing items! We wish you the best of luck!
