The topic about goods delivery is always interesting for people, who spend their time and money online buying their favorite products.
From Amazon come up with “creative” news about the release of flying drones, which can delivers every package as little as 30 minutes. The main idea behind this project is one: to deliver goods much faster. Amazon is currently working on this project called “Amazon Prime Air”. Of course, Jeff Bezos (CEO of Amazon) said that there are some limitations behind this project:
- Octocopters takes off from the Amazon warehouse.
- They will be able to deliver up to 5 pounds (approximately 2.26796kg). Bezos announced that this size covers over 86% of Amazon`s deliveries.
- Octocopters will have to cover an area of 10-miles (16 kilometers) from the Amazon distribution center.
- “The engines” of the drones will be electric and they will use GPS coordinates for navigation.
Of course, only one test was made so far, but the future might looks bright for Amazon. According to Bezos, the drones could see green light in four to five years.
