5 Extremely Successful People Who Did Not Graduate

| On 26, Aug 2015

In today’s world, success is perceived by how high your grades at High School are, whether you have a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree. But, did you know that most of the people you’re looking up to today, haven’t graduated! In fact, some of them even dropped out of High School and some out of College!
Don’t get us wrong, we are not encouraging you to become a dropout, what we are trying to tell you is that if you think you do not fit in there, and have a dream you desperately want to pursue, then go for it!
And so, for today’s topic we are going to show you 5 major successful people who have dropped out of high schools and universities to pursue their dreams. Just an encouragement for that *light bulb* to pop up faster.

First up, of course, the legendary Steve Jobs. You all most probably know his story and have heard/ read it a bazillion times. But we’re still going through it today. The co-founder of Apple did graduate from High School, but eventually ended up dropping out of College. When Jobs passed away in 2011, his net worth was $11 billion. How’s that for a college drop out?

Michael Dell – The founder of Dell computers. Dell went to University of Texas, but guess what? He dropped out. One day when was in his college dorm room, he started building the foundations of what would eventually become Dell.  Having found some success packaging and selling upgrades for personal computers, Dell went on to building a much bigger business such as his own. In 1992, Dell was the youngest CEO on Fortune’s 500 list at 27. His net worth is said to be around $20 billion.

Richard Branson – The founder of Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Mobile and other Virgin brands, Branson did not drop out of University, better yet, he dropped out of High School, at age of 16. The story goes on, turns out he was dyslexic and had poor academic performance.

But that did NOT stop him from chasing his dream. He managed to make a name for himself, and today Branson is an explicit man, who likes speaking about the importance of education, and firmly believes that schools should be encouraging and helping entrepreneurs and even financing them.  His net worth is about $5 billion. Definitely someone to look up to!

Last but not least, is Rachel Ray! As hard as it was for us to believe it, it’s true. The cooking TV show star, author and businesswoman never went to college. In fact, she doesn’t even have any official training in culinary arts. For someone who does not have any qualifications in the sphere she works in, her net worth is said to be $60 million. Great influence right there folks!

And finally, Dave Thomas. Thomas is the founder and CEO of the fast-food chain Wendy’s. He also dropped out of High School, so he can have a full-time job at the Hobby House Restaurant. Thomas died in 2002 at age of 69, his net worth was about $99 million. Imagine that.

Moral of the story is, if their guts turned out successful what makes you think yours wouldn’t? Sure, opening up a business is a risk, but those successful people took big risks, knowing that they might fall hard. But they might succeed more than they ever dreamed, and that is exactly what happened.
